Why we started Nata

When we set out to build our own kitchen in London, we couldn't find what we were looking for. High street options didn't excite us. Designer kitchens were far beyond our budget. And an IKEA hack wasn't our style.

We wanted something different: a kitchen designed entirely around our home and the way we live, made from quality materials, without an inflated price tag. So we turned to our roots in Portugal, and to the craftsmen there who could make it for us.

What started with our own home became Nata – a family business bringing Portuguese craftsmanship and thoughtful design to homes across the UK.

Why choose Nata

What's Nata?

Na-ta /ˈna.tɐ/

Named after Portugal's most famous custard tart, and our favourite sweet treat. A small nod to where we come from, and where every Nata piece is made.

FAQs

How do I see it before I commit?

Visit us at home in London, where you can see our own Nata kitchen and handle every sample in person. By appointment, with the kettle on.

Will I be billed for duty or import charges later?

No. Everything is shipped, cleared through customs and delivered at the price we quote. There's no second invoice and no charge on the doorstep.

How does it get here?

Fully assembled, in custom crates, on a dedicated delivery.

What happens if something goes wrong in year four?

Our installation team come back and put it right. Your hinges and runners are covered by a 25-year guarantee, backed by a UK-registered company you can look up and hold to it.

Is it lower quality because it is cheaper?

No. It costs less because of lower workshop overheads, no high-street showroom and buying direct from us. You get the same European oak, Superpan carcasses, Blum hardware and tolerances as the leading London kitchen makers.
